About the Role

The Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to state and local education agency partners, applying a consultative approach to understand client priorities, assess complex challenges, and develop strategic solutions that improve educational outcomes. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders to provide expert guidance, facilitate problem-solving, and support the development and execution of state and local initiatives that advance teaching and learning across Maryland. The Consultant will focus on growth and retention, ensuring that client relationships are nurtured and maintained for long-term success. This role partners with regional leadership and supports state education agencies and school district clients in efforts related to special education, strategic planning, data management, and use. While remote, the successful candidate must reside in Maryland and be able to travel as needed to meet with and support PCG teams.

Responsibilities

  • Leads account and client management efforts by cultivating relationships, aligning solutions with client objectives, driving client retention, and advancing opportunities for continued partnership and growth.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills, effectively leading multiple client engagements, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines and deliverables, and ensuring successful project outcomes that align with client goals.
  • Develops and maintains a statewide growth strategy for Maryland, aligning client needs, market opportunities, and organizational priorities to expand PCG’s presence, strengthen partnerships, and increase impact across the education sector.
  • Applies creative problem-solving and a consultancy mindset to address client challenges.
  • Listens keenly to client needs and aligns them with PCG’s products and services.
  • Effectively presents information and responds to questions from project leadership, colleagues, and clients.
  • Actively identifies areas for improvement and promotes collaborative solutions.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to exceptional client service and leads with credibility.
  • Manages multiple engagements while working at a detailed level.
  • Interacts with various levels of internal and external staff, recognizing issues and identifying solutions.
  • Exercises solid organization and time management skills, as well as research and project management capabilities.
  • Produces high-quality written reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Exercises sound judgment in completing tasks and seeks guidance when needed from team members.
  • Demonstrates expertise in MS Office software.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Maryland.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree a plus.
  • 4+ years of related experience in education, healthcare, or consulting.
  • Flexible, self-starter with intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers, business teams, and technical colleagues.
  • Dedication to accomplishing goals and challenges presented by clients and management.
  • Strong research and project management capabilities.

Working Conditions

  • Remote office setting.
  • Up to 50% travel required.

Pay

Compensation for this role ranges from $66,000 to $100,000, depending on factors including location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
