About the role
The Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Children’s Hospital is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a highly collaborative, team-based service providing inpatient consult-liaison psychiatric care to medically hospitalized children and adolescents.
This role is ideal for a psychiatrist who enjoys complex, medically integrated cases, values academic engagement and team-based care, and seeks an intellectually rewarding position with manageable volume and strong institutional support.
Responsibilities
- Provide C-L psychiatric care to medically hospitalized pediatric patients
- Collaborate closely with hospitalists, subspecialists, nursing, social work, psychology, and case management
- Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows as part of the IUSoM academic mission
- Contribute to committees, program development, and improvement initiatives
- Engage in scholarly activity as desired (research not required, but opportunities available)
Requirements
- MD or DO (or foreign equivalent)
- BC/BE in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Comfortable with in-person, bedside psychiatric care in medically complex patients
- Interest in C-L psychiatry and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Willingness to teach / work with learners
Qualifications
- Experience with complex, medically integrated psychiatric cases
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to manage high patient volumes and maintain quality care
- Interest in academic and research opportunities

- Base salary: ~$281,200, with opportunity to approach $300,000+ total compensation

Pay
Base salary: ~$281,200, with opportunity to approach $300,000+ total compensation
Schedule & Call
- Current schedule: M-F, approximately 8:30a – 4:30p
- Future opportunity: Potential transition to a 7-on / 7-off model that would include inpatient unit rounding on weekends
- Call: Low commitment (approximately 2 weekends every 6 months)
- Nighttime and overflow coverage supported by a designated team, supporting predictable end-of-day departures
