Construction Supervisor
About the role
The City of Wilmington seeks an experienced Construction Supervisor to lead and manage critical infrastructure projects. This role involves supervising staff, managing projects, and ensuring safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff
- Prioritizes and schedules work activities
- Develops and oversees employee work schedules
- Monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work
- Provides technical expertise and updates progress reports
- Safeguards work environment and directs traffic
- Operates and maintains various pieces of equipment
- Performs administrative tasks such as entering and reviewing data
Qualifications
- Associate’s/Technical degree with vocational and technical training in operation of CDL-operated vehicles
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible construction management experience
- Class C Driver's License
- Ability to obtain Hazmat endorsement within 12 months of hire
- Ability to obtain NIMS 100, 200, 700 within 6 months of hire
Skills
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of construction management practices and safety protocols is required.
