An established general contractor specializing in large-scale residential and multifamily construction is seeking experienced Construction Superintendents to join its growing team in New Jersey. This is an opportunity to oversee complex ground-up construction projects, including multifamily residential buildings, high-rise developments, and mixed-use properties. The company takes a collaborative, hands-on approach to construction, emphasizing quality craftsmanship, proactive planning, strong subcontractor relationships, and successful project delivery. The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader who can manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate multiple trades, maintain project schedules, and ensure work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations on ground-up multifamily and residential construction projects.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trade partners, vendors, and site personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring work progresses according to established milestones.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project plans to ensure accurate execution.
• Coordinate material deliveries, inspections, site logistics, and trade sequencing.
• Maintain strict jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Monitor workmanship and quality control throughout all phases of construction.
• Work closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and ownership teams to resolve field issues.
• Identify potential scheduling conflicts and construction challenges, implementing solutions proactively.
• Conduct site meetings, maintain daily reports, and communicate progress to the project team.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule while meeting quality expectations and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent working for a general contractor.
• Experience with ground-up multifamily, high-rise residential, or large-scale residential construction strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, site logistics, and trade coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and overseeing multiple trades simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety, quality control, and building code requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take ownership of field operations and work collaboratively with the broader project team.

Pay

Competitive base salary of $105,000–$180,000, depending on experience.
