About the role
Sargent is seeking Earthwork Superintendents in the Piedmont-Triad area. Ideal candidates have experience supervising crews in earth moving or pipe laying environments.
Responsibilities
- On-site administrative and technical management
- Scheduling, coordinating, and supervising all project activities
- Interfacing with clients, inspectors, and other contractors
- Planning, directing, and supervising construction efforts
- Ensuring projects comply with design, budget, and schedule constraints
- Following OSHA and company safety policies
- Creating and reinforcing a safety culture
- Maintaining safety training for employees
- Managing subcontractors and providing feedback on their performance
- Coordinating work with different crews and contractors
- Conducting quality control inspections
- Investigating incidents and accidents
- Documenting project progress and resolving personnel issues
- Representing Sargent in the community and with clients
- Maintaining project documentation and records
- Supporting company policies and fostering a positive work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Four-year Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred
- Extensive knowledge of construction supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- OSHA 30-hour training
- Valid driver's license with a clean record

- Knowledge of earth construction technology, methods, and drawings

Pay
Competitive pay based on experience level.
Schedule
Travel required, but Sargent covers travel expenses including lodging, mileage, per diem for meals, and vehicle reimbursement. Home every weekend.
