Job Description
We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated professional to fill the position of Construction Site Supervisor with Canam. This role requires travelling throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of USA.
- Coordinate with plant coordinators (steel delivery, steel deck, joists, hardware), steel erectors (daily requests), and project managers.
- Attend field meeting with other trades and summarize to the project manager.
- Clock with the detailing/engineering department – field works, revision of drawings, clarifications (missing details).
- Acknowledge erection drawings (follow-up on acceptance dates).
- Follow-up with transportation for deliveries issues.
- Reception of materials and hardware (validate all delivery slips).
- Daily site report (daily log – plan grid).
- Assist the steel erector in repair requests (field work and deficiencies).
- Quality control, visual only.
- Assist health and safety coordinators.
- Attend and participate in, on and off-site meetings; including, but not limited to, health and safety meetings.
- Update daily site progress in Smartsheet.
- Monitor schedules and update on a daily basis. Communicate with various stakeholders and the general contractor.
- Manage on-site record-keeping, including but not limited to, daily site specific hazard assessments.
Qualifications
- A construction trade journeyman certificate or diploma.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of construction site supervision experience.
- Ability to read structural shop drawings, layouts and erection drawings is a must.
- A thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
- An autonomous results-oriented aptitude, with the ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge and understanding of construction schedules and Gantt charts.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in computer system and software (Google Workspace).
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)
- Ability to apply innovative and effective supervision and management techniques to maximize sub-trade performance.
