Responsibilities
- Perform construction observation and documentation on water, wastewater and civil infrastructure projects such as pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
- Serve as the key link between the Owner and Engineer to keep all parties updated on project progress and quality of the project.
- Monitor contractor work for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Track daily progress through reports, photos, and field documentation.
- Support change orders, RFIs, schedules, and project coordination alongside the Project Manager.
- Participate in field meetings and coordinate with contractors and project teams.
- Travel regionally to active project sites (overnight travel as needed).
Requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate with construction contractors, clients and project teams.
- Able and willing to work in the field across project sites.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems onsite.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred
- A.A.S. in fields related to Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying or another related field.
- 2+ years of construction observation and administration experience.
- Experience observing construction of water or wastewater treatment facility projects.
Physical Abilities
- May require lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 75 pounds.
- May require considerable use of arms and legs as well as moving the whole body such as running, maneuvering, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
