TITLE
The Construction Scheduler III will provide various functions, which primarily involve providing expertise in the area of project controls, scheduling, and schedule analysis; earned value management and construction activities in support of a construction program. They will ensure that a project is carried out within the projected time-frame and work closely with Project Managers and site staff to compile data for cost and time status on projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Highly proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, including development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), critical path analysis, constrained logic, and schedule baselines specific to commissioning workflows
- Strong understanding of commissioning sequencing, including equipment pre-functional testing, point-to-point checks, functional performance testing, integrated system testing (IST), and phased turnovers
- Demonstrated experience coordinating schedules with equipment vendors, testing agencies, commissioning authorities (CxA), contractors, and owners to ensure realistic durations, resource availability, and risk-aware execution
- Skilled at schedule risk analysis and “what-if” scenario planning, identifying compression opportunities and mitigation strategies in response to late design deliverables, long-lead equipment, or construction delays
- Able to translate complex technical commissioning requirements into clear, actionable schedules, dashboards, and narratives suitable for executive, owner, and client review
- Experienced in supporting start-up and commissioning in fast-paced, startup-style environments, adapting schedules quickly as scope, design maturity, or procurement strategies evolve
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience facilitating commissioning schedule reviews, coordination meetings, and milestone planning sessions across multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented and claims-aware, with the ability to document schedule impacts, commissioning delays, and recovery actions to support transparency, change management, and potential REA or claim efforts
- Develop resource load and level project schedules using the performance work statement (PWS), technical proposal, WBS, and oral directions from senior project managers and technical leads.
- Understand EVMS best practices.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope of work in the preparation and acceptance of usable Baseline schedules for construction.
- Monitor multiple project schedules being developed and updated by Operations staff and provide guidance, as necessary.
- Interact with the Operations team and represent CPG and its partners in the best manner to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.
- Support the development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules with executive management and present to selection committees if required.
- Utilize analytics to identify and report on project trends.
- Evaluate the actual construction status relative to proposed plan.
- Analyze and communicate the impact of changes to the schedule.
- Prepare Time Impact Analyses per recommended practices by commonly accepted standards.
- Travel to project sites.
- Critique, create, and recommend improvements to departmental policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- 8+ years scheduling experience on commercial construction project (Data Center Experience a plus!)
- With at least 8 years focused on planning and scheduling.
- Or Certification with a (PMI-SP, or PMP or SIX Sigma) is preferrable.
- Proven success implementing strategic initiatives.
- Familiarity with the concepts of Lean Scheduling, EVMS, resource loaded scheduling, and its interface into traditional CPM schedule is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- Auto Cad or Bluebeam or PDF drawing takeoff experience.
- Certificates and Licenses: OSHA certification preferred, Electrical and safety certificates/licenses.
PAY RANGE
$85,996 - $129,050 per year
