About the role

Morton Buildings, Inc., the industry leader in post-frame construction with 120 years of experience and more than 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants servicing over 100 construction centers nationwide, seeks a Field Service Specialist (Construction Sales). This role blends sales, estimating, scheduling, and project completion across Morton Buildings and other brands/styles of buildings, with an emphasis on post-frame construction expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide repairs and renovations to improve building appearance, extend service life, or repurpose structures.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication, high-quality materials, workmanship, and timely project completion.
  • Generate repair leads via cold calling or on-site contacts.
  • Assist in pricing, defining scope of work, and writing repair contracts; generate material lists and invoices.
  • Submit and process contracts and invoices promptly.
  • Coordinate repair deliveries with customers, Corporate Schedulers, Regional Service Manager, and Crew Foreman.
  • Perform small repairs independently when safe to do so without additional assistance.
  • Conduct pre-construction conferences as needed; review contract documents and safety plans.
  • Establish and enforce job schedules and priorities.
  • Maintain quality control and monitor repair progress to ensure compliance with specifications and top-quality workmanship.
  • Enforce safety compliance on job sites and follow Lock Out / Tag Out procedures for electrical issues.
  • Collect down and final payments.
  • Submit completion paperwork to the Field Service Administrator and assist in ensuring completeness.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive construction experience or 3 years in post-frame construction.
  • Previous sales experience preferred.
  • Strong supervision, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for materials and construction methods.
  • Ability to identify and promptly resolve repair complaints.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated with a positive, high-energy work ethic.
  • Ability to work well with team members and sell additional repair opportunities.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills, including Excel and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license required; valid DOT license highly desired.
  • Limited overnight travel required.
