Responsibilities

  • Implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with health and safety requirements of the organization.
  • Provides technical leadership and functional guidance to ensure regulatory standards are being enforced.
  • Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.
  • Serves in a liaison capacity with the resident contract agency representative and other various agencies engaged in promoting environmental safety and health activities.
  • Drafts all necessary reports to federal, state and local agencies.
  • Covers audits of health and safety programs within the organization.
  • Assists in the development and conducts basic health, safety and environment (HSE) training to employees.
  • Communicates programs to enhance employee awareness of prevention and compliance.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Occupational Safety or similar curriculum and 6 years of construction safety experience or AA/AS and 8 years of relevant experience or HSD/GED and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of construction safety experience.
  • Commercial construction safety experience.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial construction safety.
  • Ability to manage the safety program of multiple phases of construction from demolition thru turn-over.
  • Knowledge and experience in MEP construction projects.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders, owners, team members.
  • OSHA 30 Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience with OCIP and CCIP.
  • Experience managing JHA's on a construction project; identifying hazards and safety controls.

Physical Demands

  • Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis.
  • Work Environment: Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation.

  • The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $85674.46 to $158497.76 per year.
