About the role
Superior is looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator to ensure that every team member on our job sites is safe and secure. This position will maintain safe conditions for people and property, assist with investigating accidents, and emergency response. This role is based on a jobsite in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the General Contractor and other trade partners
- Assist with the collection of safety records following training sessions
- Document all injuries, incidents, and near misses
- Sign daily paperwork to verify proper hazard and mitigation assessment
- Monitor large construction sites and enforce compliance with government rules & regulations
- Complete audits and daily reports describing activities completed, and issues
- Stay up-to-date with safety policies and trends, i.e. meeting the latest safety standards and establishing new ones from time-to-time as newer risks are discovered
- Attend all safety meetings on the job sites
Qualifications
Character Traits
- You’re passionate about all-things safety
- You have a strong attention to detail
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You’re a natural at conflict resolution and are calm under pressure
- You’re able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information
Expertise
- At least 1 year of safety experience in construction OR 5 years of field/project experience on a commercial construction site OR a degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or completed an apprenticeship program)
- Certification in First Aid/CPR
- Completed the OSHA 10-hour construction training course
- Bonus Points: Completed the OSHA 30-hour construction training course
- Bonus Points: Safety credential through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (e.g., CHST) or are actively working toward certification
- Bonus Points: Experience in electrical construction
Pay
Pay Range: $32 - $45 per hour (Eligible for overtime)
