Construction Resident Project Representative (Water)
About the role
The US East Water business of GHD is seeking a Resident Project Representative (Construction Inspector) with experience in water and wastewater facility and pipeline construction. This position is part-time, initially offering 40 hours per week, which may reduce throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Represent GHD as the on-site primary liaison between the construction manager, Owner and the Contractor throughout construction of the project
- Provide on-site observation of construction activities including reviewing products against approved submittals
- Administer weekly onsite coordination meetings with the Contractor, Owner, and other stakeholders
- Coverage of third-party materials testing, including but not limited to soils and concrete
- Work with client operations staff, as required, to coordinate shutdowns and other construction activities affecting Owner operations
- Maintain an on-site set of redline drawings documenting final installed materials/equipment along with any project deviations
- Aid in contract closeout documentation
- Aid in construction schedule reviews
- Acquire and maintain all certificates, submittals, testing reports, operations and maintenance manuals, and other related construction correspondence
- Utilize GHD web-based document management system, or alternative document management systems deemed appropriate by project team for all construction documentation including submittals, RFIs, change management, daily field reports, inspections, and any other contract documentation
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED; degrees, certifications, and other documented training and education is a plus
- 8-15 years of experience in general contracting, construction inspection and/or construction management, with a focus on water, wastewater, and stormwater projects
- Familiarity with current standards and specifications for Soil Erosion & Sediment Control
- Familiarity with various construction means and methods of pipeline identification, tracing, pressure testing, and installation procedures
- Experience working with multiple subcontractors and demonstrated effective communication with clients, Owners and Contractors
- Strong computer skills with the ability to use multiple platforms and devices for documentation and communication, such as MS Word, Excel, and Teams and tablets, cameras, and mobile devices
- Able and willing to work in the field 90-100% of the time
Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED

- Salary Range: $29.50-$49.50 based on experience and location
