About the role

This position is based full-time in Laredo, Texas and supports the Laredo Readiness Center (RC) & Field Maintenance Shop (FMS) project. The project scope includes National Guard Readiness Center, Field Maintenance Shop, supporting facilities, site development and infrastructure, civil construction, structural systems, architectural construction, MEP, fire protection systems, information technology and telecommunications infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project quality control activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and federal standards
  • Manage and maintain the project's Quality Control Program
  • Conduct inspections and audits of ongoing construction activities
  • Review design documents, plans, specifications, and submittals for compliance
  • Document quality control activities and maintain required project records
  • Cook up quality control meetings with project stakeholders
  • Identify deficiencies, corrective actions, and quality-related issues
  • Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with quality requirements
  • Verify testing and inspection activities are completed and documented properly
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, and owners to resolve quality concerns
  • Ensure construction activities meet USACE and federal project quality standards
  • Prepare reports and documentation required by project owners and regulatory agencies
  • Support project closeout activities and final quality verification efforts

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager (QCM) on Federal US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects
  • At least 2 years of construction experience on comparable commercial or federal construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience serving as QCM on vertical construction projects
  • Experience supporting construction projects valued at $50 million or greater
  • Bachelor's degree in: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical field
  • Strong knowledge of federal construction quality standards, processes, and documentation requirements
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on military, Department of Defense (DoD), or Texas Military Department projects
  • Experience managing quality programs for large-scale federal facilities
  • Strong understanding of civil, structural, architectural, MEP, fire protection, and telecommunications scopes
  • Previous experience with nationally recognized federal contractors
