About the role

The Project Superintendent will play a central role in Montante Construction's commercial construction process, collaborating with both development and construction partners to successfully deliver projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the pre-construction team to understand project requirements and budgets.
  • Aid the pre-construction team in developing the overall project schedule.
  • Develop site-specific safety procedures and clearly communicate them.
  • Ensure project safety measures are maintained daily.
  • Maintain and complete all project paperwork, including daily reports and as-built documentation.
  • Prepare two-week look-ahead schedules in line with the overall project schedule.
  • Coordinate work between project subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Inspect and document installed work for compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all materials, supplies, and equipment are on-site and ready for use as needed.
  • Accompany owner representatives, architects, engineers, and inspectors during site reviews and address any questions and comments.
  • Regularly review estimated budgets versus actual costs with the project manager to confirm project profitability.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in the NY construction industry.
  • Precore Construction Management software experience.
  • Previous experience in a lead role on construction projects required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour safety training or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Computer experience including MS Office and project management software.
  • Detailed understanding and awareness of the NY construction industry.
  • Rigorous knowledge about the processes involved in planning, designing, and executing a construction project.
  • Excellent adaptable, professional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid knowledge about safety standards and requirements.
  • Basic understanding of construction insurance and accounting.
  • Strong relationships with local architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • A willingness to troubleshoot and creatively solve problems.
  • The ability to lead or participate as a team member as situations dictate.
  • The ability to travel to job sites in NY.

Preferred

  • Experience with warehouse, logistics, and last-mile facilities.
  • Experience with site development on projects of 30+ acres.

Competitive base wages starting between $100,000 and $125,000 per year, with annual review and bonus opportunity.
