About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager I to join our CMCI team in our Cincinnati office. This role is responsible for managing construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects through all phases of project delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities.
- Establish and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, project teams, and stakeholders while ensuring projects maintain quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal support teams including Landscape Architecture, Electrical, Traffic, Plan Review, Program Management, Environmental, Utilities, Hydraulics, Bridge, Geotechnical, Materials Testing, and other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee project contract administration and correspondence activities.
- Identify and resolve project issues, disputes, and risks while maintaining project objectives and client satisfaction.
- Maintain project staffing requirements and coordinate personnel assignments.
- Supervise and mentor inspectors, materials testers, and other project personnel assigned to projects.
- Support proposal preparation, budgeting activities, and project planning efforts as required.
- Ensure adherence to company quality standards, safety requirements, and project management procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing construction projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or related professional certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of project management practices, construction methods, and contract administration principles.
- Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, materials testing, and construction engineering practices.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and project teams.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Able to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
