Construction Project Manager, Controls

About the role

The Major Projects Project Manager at Johnson Controls leads significant HVAC Controls construction projects in the Indiana market and at customer sites. These projects, valued at $2M or more, require a skilled construction professional capable of managing the complexities associated with large construction undertakings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the profitable execution of assigned BAS Complex Projects.
• Provide early sales support activities in the TAS and development process, offering insights on strategy, vendor/partner selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment, and more.
• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, billing, budget adherence, and scope compliance of assigned projects, while maintaining positive cash flow and actively pursuing change orders.
• Adhere to state, local, and federal legal requirements, uphold the highest ethical standards, and follow safety standards for all Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors.
• Evaluate the contractual scope of work and address the impact of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and/or scheduling changes to support timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Seek additional work through change orders, perform associated cost estimates, prepare proposals, and negotiate final settlement prices and customer acceptance.
• Manage company technical resources and subcontractors to oversee costs, billings, and collections, maintaining profitability goals and positive cash flow through timely and accurate project billings.
• Review and interpret contract Terms and Conditions, analyze financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential issues, and effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial statuses to management as required.
• Develop and execute project schedules according to plan, interact, schedule, coordinate, and collaborate with Project Engineers and System Application Engineers for project delivery requirements.
