Position Overview
The Project Manager (PM) oversees one or more projects, ensuring profitability, schedule, safety, and client satisfaction. The PM acts as the Owner's day-to-day point of contact and collaborates closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Executive.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate understanding of Higley Construction’s values and ethics.
- Deliver work results that exceed corporate goals for profitability, schedule, quality, safety, and client relationship management.
- Receive high ratings for client satisfaction, safety performance, and project execution.
- Build and maintain professional networks to secure future business opportunities.
- Negotiate and administer contracts with Subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Identify and manage project risks, using resources to mitigate them.
- Lead project engineering efforts and ensure compliance with project engineering requirements.
- Handle difficult situations on-site and be fully responsible for project cost management, including change management and profit and loss reporting.
- Organize and lead OAC and Subcontractor meetings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Business writing and public presentation skills.
- Competency in multiple construction software applications.
- Knowledge of construction accounting and project cost forecasting.
- Problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.
- Ability to “manage up” and lead teams effectively.
Qualifications
- A four-year engineering, construction management, or construction-related degree, or relevant experience.
- Engineering certifications such as a PE, and industry certifications from organizations like OSHA, USGBC, CMAA, or ASHE.
- At least five (5) years of construction experience with increasing responsibility.
