Responsibilities
- Coordinate all activities with the Superintendent and project team.
- Serve as liaison between the division lead and project superintendent.
- Own all project finances.
- Organize, understand, and maintain up-to-date contract documents.
- Create, update, and enforce project schedules.
- Problem solve.
- Coincide project meetings as needed.
- Keep project records and documents.
- Manage project cost.
- Manage change orders, manage submittals and other necessary project documents.
- Physically inspect projects to monitor progress and compliance with project standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of industry experience, preferably in general contracting.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Construction estimating, means and methods, accounting, document administration, and a thorough understanding of industry practices.
- Application of LEED certifications is preferred, but no required.
- Experience with construction industry scheduling software.
- Previous experience managing employees preferred.
- Some periodic travel may be required.
- DBIA certification a plus, but not required.
- Blueprint Reading.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project & Outlook) is preferred.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, subcontractors, or employees of the organization.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects at varying stages within a lifecycle.
- Able to assist the Division Lead in cost estimation, subcontractor scope development and client negotiations, as needed.
- Able to manage a small team of employees, providing oversight, direction, and mentoring in accordance to company policies and procedures.
- Able to foster and cultivate a team culture that aligns with company mission and values.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to climb a ladder, work from scaffolding and manlifts, comfortable working at heights.
- Ability to perform job duties while standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, and climbing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and on sloped surfaces.
- This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Overtime may be required from time to time to meet project deadlines.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers.
