Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Construction Project Manager to support a portfolio of commercial and federal construction projects throughout the Eastern United States.

About the role

The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects ranging from small renovations to large-scale military, healthcare, and government facilities while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position is based in Greensboro, NC with approximately 40% travel to project sites across the East Coast.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ranging from approximately $30K renovations to $20M+ commercial and government facilities
  • Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle including planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and maintain project schedules while monitoring milestones, budgets, risks, and overall project performance
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Review project documentation including contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to maintain schedule and budget objectives
  • Travel to active job sites to oversee construction progress, resolve issues, and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Support projects across military, government, healthcare, and commercial construction environments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
  • 3-7 years of experience managing commercial, government, healthcare, or institutional construction projects
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects of varying size and complexity
  • Strong knowledge of construction project management principles including budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and change management
  • Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineering teams
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% to project sites throughout the Eastern United States
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), military, federal, healthcare, or institutional construction projects
  • Experience managing projects valued between $10M-$30M or larger
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • OSHA 30, PMP, CCM, LEED, or other industry certifications

Pay

Salary: $120,000 - $135,000
