The ideal candidate will have experience working on heavy civil infrastructure projects and possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills in both office and field environments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, with long-term growth opportunities within a stable and growing construction organization focused on large-scale civil and utility infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil, water, and wastewater construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Coordinate project schedules, subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries
- Organize and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, and as-built documentation
- Monitor construction progress, budgets, schedules, and quality standards
- Assist with quantity tracking, cost control, and project reporting
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications to support field operations
- Support field teams with scheduling, coordination, safety procedures, and problem resolution
- Conduct field observations and ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards
- Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
- Utilize scheduling and project management software to track progress and maintain timelines
- Assist with estimating, quantity take-offs, and pricing support as needed
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, water, or wastewater projects
- 5+ years of construction project management or project engineering experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction processes and field operations
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and as-built drawings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and project management software
- Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, or estimating software is preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
