About the role

Whiting-Turner is a 'National ENR Top 25 General Contractor' committed to fostering a positive and supportive work environment. We are seeking a project manager with 3 to 10 years of experience to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team, schedule, and costs while focusing on safety and quality.
  • Deliver complex projects with minimal delays and prioritize customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor within a diverse team.
  • Solve problems and resolve conflicts.
  • Apply construction principles and demonstrate ambition to advance.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Practice innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage financial impacts on site.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate subcontract trades.
  • Interface with owners, architects, engineers, and on-site management teams.
  • Award and manage subcontractors.
  • Write and define project scope.
  • Present and negotiate change orders.
  • Create and manage project schedules.
  • Prepare project accounting documents.
  • Use scheduling and software tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management, Construction Technology.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Knowledge of construction principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Practitioner of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing financial impacts on site.
  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate subcontract trades.
  • Experience interfacing with owners, architects, engineers, and on-site management teams.
  • Experience in subcontract award, buy-out, scope writing, change order presentation, and negotiation.
  • Experience preparing schedules and managing project progress.
  • Project accounting skills.
  • Experience using scheduling and software tools.

The company offers a competitive salary range based on experience, qualifications, and performance. The annual base salary range is subject to change and does not alter the at-will nature of the employment relationship.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors including role, level, relevant education, experience, training, skills, and abilities, location, and market and business considerations.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is flexible and tailored to meet the needs of the project and the individual.
