Responsibilities
- Lead by Example:
- Communicate with Field Operations Manager to ensure adequate workforce quantity and skill level.
- Set up and maintain assigned projects within the Weekly Manpower Sheet; discuss variances in weekly operations meetings.
- Support set-up and updates of the Weekly Labor Productivity Sheet.
- Address scheduling issues with the Construction Manager/Owner, providing corrective actions and cost implications.
- Distribute project schedules to internal personnel, subcontractors, and vendors; follow up on critical dates/milestones.
- Review weekly labor productivity trends and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Build Lifelong Partnerships:
- Provide clear and timely direction to coordinators, detailers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Manage customer communication to coordinate work, resolve issues, address change orders, and maintain positive relationships.
- Contribute to project scheduling and attend necessary meetings to maintain an efficient work plan.
- Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate billing and cost allocation.
- Act with Integrity:
- Develop detailed project budgets.
- Negotiate the schedule of values with customers to optimize cash flow.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly billing submissions to avoid payment delays.
- Identify, quote, negotiate, and track all project change orders.
- Provide accurate, timely, and complete cost-to-complete projections for assigned projects.
- Manage document control to ensure accurate and current information distribution.
- Collaborate with the Pre-Construction team to buy out equipment, materials, and subcontractors per Purchasing SOP.
- Purchase/release equipment and materials to support project schedules and field/shop plans.
- Put People First:
- Work with the Safety Director to ensure employees have necessary safety equipment and training.
- Regularly review projects to address safety-related issues promptly.
- Challenge the Ordinary:
- Develop a phased manpower budget from the project estimate.
- Review the overall project schedule and develop efficient plans for the scope of work.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
- Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, or Engineering preferred.
- Comprehensive computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical and Process Pipe Systems.
