About the role

The Project Manager under the direction of the Manager of Facilities and Construction is responsible for leading the planning, procurement, execution, closeout, and occupancy of projects. They will supervise all project steps and coordinate with the department Manager and Director to ensure the District's best interests and project goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in the development of bid documents and the bid process, including preplanning activities and validations.
  • Aids in the development of project timelines and budgets.
  • Executes project timelines and work plans.
  • Administers projects according to approved plans, specifications.
  • Coordinates jurisdictional approvals.
  • Coordinates District staff, design, and contractors meetings.
  • Coordinates the activities of various levels of assigned personnel and project contractors.
  • Organizes multiple tasks with conflicting priorities, delivering the desired results on or below budget and successfully meeting deadlines.
  • Implements Capital Construction budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, certification, and project oversight.
  • Ensures proper documentation.
  • Communicates effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of constituents.
  • Implements District construction policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
  • Complies with System policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university, in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or any type of Engineering degree that covers multiple disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, safety, etc.
  • 5 or more years relevant experience.
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing.
  • Designated Design-Build Professional (DBIA) Associate obtained within the first (12) months of hire.
