Construction Project Manager
SABG is hiring a senior-level Construction Project Manager to support the FBI in Huntsville, Alabama. Active Top-Secret clearance required.
About the role
Provides on-site construction management oversight during mobilization, site preparation, construction, fit-out, commissioning, and occupancy. Leads and oversees multiple construction projects, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and quality. Manages the Project Management Team, coordinating with government agencies, clients, architects, engineers, and contractors. Delegates tasks and provides technical assistance to team members, including subordinate Project Managers and Assistant Construction Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Interface with clients to define requirements and provide general oversight of construction and renovation of government real property.
- Manage large, multi-faceted projects and maintain coordinating relationships with stakeholders.
- Delegate tasks and provide technical assistance to the Project Management Team.
- Ensure quality and timeliness of work products delivered by team members.
- Oversee all phases of the construction process, including architectural design and development documents.
- Communicate with project teams, architects, clients, vendors, and subordinate staff.
- Track project metrics, update logs, lead meetings, and ensure user needs and schedules are met.
- Prepare documentation such as scope of work, technical reviews, and miscellaneous reports.
- Develop project charters, act as Change Agent Manager, define roles and responsibilities, and perform project tracking.
- Adopt project management best practices, promote customer involvement, apply lessons learned, and enforce effective change control.
- Develop contingency plans and provide recommended solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Professional certifications required (e.g., Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Registered Architect (RA)).
- 15 years of experience managing multi-faceted construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Superior communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams.
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and industry/project software (e.g., PM Prolog, Newforma, Microsoft Project, Primavera, RS Means, Buzzsaw, or other cloud-based construction management tools).
- Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying issues, analyzing information, and developing alternative solutions.
- Excellent written communication, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations.
- Strong presentation skills for groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) to practical situations.
