About the role
The Construction Manager serves as an owner’s representative leading programs consisting of multiple ground-up/new-build projects for multi-site clients in the retail/restaurant industry. This role acts as an extension of an owner’s design and construction staff, overseeing general contractors, designers, and vendors for multiple locations and leading full program delivery, including pre-construction services (bid, permit, schedule), construction oversight (construction, change orders, invoicing, punch lists), and project closeout.
Work conditions & travel
This is a remote-based role for qualified individuals who live in the Denver, CO or surrounding markets. The position requires recurring travel on-site to project locations across the Great Plains (MT, ID, UT, KS, NE, ND, SD), with travel expected 50-80% of the time, including weekly site visits. Multi-shift work may be required to accomplish tasks in active retail locations to meet aggressive schedules.
Responsibilities
- On-site project management of construction activities.
- Direct and coordinate project team activities to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
- Proactively communicate project-related issues with Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, or Operations Director.
- Examine construction documentation, including drawings, schedules, and scopes, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Review bid results, specifications, test and progress reports, and other project information to gain familiarity with the project.
- Confirm and verify permitting requirements related to the project or program.
- Directly manage and monitor project work in the field.
- Diligently manage change orders to projects.
- Follow established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Prepare and provide weekly status reports for projects.
- Proactively identify and solve or elevate project issues related to cost, schedule, safety, or quality.
- Represent the company in project meetings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, potential clients, subcontractors, and vendors to help develop new opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 4-year degree in an accredited construction-related program or equivalent; or 7-10+ years of related experience in QSR/kitchen retail construction project management.
- Ground-up construction experience is highly preferred/critical.
- Strong understanding of multi-site program management.
- Expertise in construction processes, including pre-construction, permitting, scheduling, and closeout.

Pay & benefits
The anticipated compensation range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $118,000, based on market conditions, individual education, qualifications, and experience.
