Construction Project Manager

About the role
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in project management and a desire to work in a TEAM environment with support and input from multiple angles that values safety above all else. The successful candidate will collaborate with the team to facilitate new building construction/renovation projects.
Responsibilities
- Identify and manage the project risks.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to determine the specifications of the project.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Oversee the work of contractors, laborers, mechanics, etc., and give them guidance when needed.
- Embed a strong safety culture in the project team, contractors, and workers on site.
- Follow up on projects to ensure proper execution.
- Prepare and implement progress reports on projects.
- Commission and handover projects.
- Follow up on punch lists to verify projects are completed and coordinated with all stakeholders.
- Process pay applications and invoices.
- Build and update project construction schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of experience in industrial/commercial project management
- Organizational and project management skills, along with effective communication skills
- Skilled at managing contractors and consultants
- Experience in delivering projects on time and within budget
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the wire manufacturing industry is a plus
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, building systems, utilities, and repair procedures relating to facilities management as well as life safety monitoring and control systems for equipment
- Good computing and software skills
