Job Summary

The Project Manager (Regional) oversees construction management functions for the Maui Region, ensuring projects are completed within time, budget, and scope while meeting regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides construction management oversight
  • Prepares requests for fee proposals from consultants and construction contractors
  • Identifies future project requirements for facility improvements
  • Assists in contract preparation and scheduling
  • Coordinates with consultants, contractors, and construction management firms
  • Communicates with user groups and addresses facility concerns
  • Ensures project documentation requirements are met
  • Represents the hospital at project meetings
  • Works with construction management firms and project teams to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Participates in future development planning
  • Acquires cost estimates for regional renovations
  • Maintains compliance with JCAHO, Medicare/Medicaid, OSHA, and other requirements

Facilities Duties

  • Serves as primary contact for consultants and contractors
  • Prepares required documentation and coordinates communication
  • Manages facility, land, and building consulting contracts
  • Provides consultative services and liaises with construction projects

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in design, construction, or project management
  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in architecture, engineering, construction, or project management or related field, or four (4) years of directly related experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Driver’s License required at hire
  • Ability to express ideas effectively, communicate orally and in writing, organize, and demonstrate broad administrative experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use tact, discretion, confidentiality, and courtesy in interdepartmental and external contacts
  • Ability to learn and grow, solve engineering problems, and apply systems thinking
  • Understand and relate to the professional and personal challenges of team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional license/registration/certification preferred
