Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversight, design, market, and administration of the Fine Arts Membership program, including monthly renewal communication.
- Support to the Exhibition Program, including creation of museum labels and educational signage, management of artist’s loan agreements and contracts, and providing e-communication to artists and telephone/in-person contact as needed.
- Art Center Store management of artist payments; participation in artist selection and display, including the monthly turnover of artists.
- Graphic Design projects for various marketing needs as required, including flyers, signage, and web update support.
- Aid Special Events Senior Leader with two annual arts festivals and approximately seven exhibition opening receptions.
- Occasional support at the customer service desk as break-time relief, or as needed during times of heavy phones/walk-in customers.
Minimum Training and Experience Required
- Currently employed by the City of Irvine.
- Two years of college or university level coursework in arts, education, or recreation preferred.
- Two years of experience working in arts education or recreation, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
- Training in visual arts preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Understanding and implementation of City policies and procedures, as well as the organization and operating procedures of IFAC.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry equipment/supplies (weighing up to 50 lbs.), lean, stoop, twist, and bend.
