We are a trusted, full-service partner to public sector and government entities, K-12 schools, higher education, utilities, and healthcare customers across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Europe. This role supports the final design, construction, and successful implementation of multimillion-dollar energy efficiency projects at our Chicago, IL project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily construction, administrative, and technical management of renewable construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, government, and commercial customers.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager with project accounting, budgeting, project schedule and tracking, reporting, quality management, and internal communications.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s financial policies and procedures, including revenue recognition policies and project set-up rules.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business office and operations.
  • Direct interface with Ameresco customers, managing customer service, relationships, and contractual obligations.
  • Assist the Engineering and Development team and the Senior Project Manager in project design and development, including scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation, and project scheduling.
  • Regularly monitor assigned project performance and cost estimates to forecast estimates through to project completion for reasonableness against plans and actual expense rates.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor bids solicited by the Senior Project Manager to help determine scope, schedule, and timely delivery for all project-related materials, equipment, and construction services.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Directly manage construction managers (site supervisors) to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Maintain and update project schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding items.
  • Provide a detailed 2-week look-ahead schedule to facilitate customer coordination and planning.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing project expenditures and job cost accounting processes, including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting, and tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, customer, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.
  • Travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years of construction project management experience.
  • Ability to review confidential US security information.

Qualifications

  • Completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry-related education preferred.
  • Demonstrated work experience with several of the following energy efficiency disciplines: direct digital energy controls systems, variable frequency drives, high-efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technology, warranty, and service requirements.
  • Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.
  • Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing, issued by resident state.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $92,000 - $134,000. Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
