Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects of all sizes, disciplines, and complexity, and/or multiple projects.
  • Aid in marketing and managing large and complex projects or groups of projects, including mechanical, electrical, controls, civil, architectural, and structural engineering.
  • Act as a point of contact for the development and discussion of new opportunities and subsequent project objectives, scope, and budget both internally and with clients.
  • Lead a team in achieving project goals within budget and schedule constraints, assessing progress against these constraints, resolving conflicts, and escalating issues to management if necessary.
  • Evaluate the performance of project team members.
  • Occasionally manage project management tasks for in-house design services/projects to maintain a balanced workload.
  • Direct and oversee engineering/construction disciplines in project management duties.
  • Direct efforts of team members assigned to larger projects, overseeing planning, scheduling, estimating, and reviewing work accomplished by the project/construction team.
  • Work and coordinate within a matrix engineering organization to acquire necessary resources for design projects.
  • Supervise planning, scheduling, estimating, and reviewing work accomplished by the project/construction team.
  • Control project work accomplishments vs. scope of services contracted, assess progress vs. schedule and budget; resolve conflicts or elevate conflicts to management level necessary for resolution.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, management, or engineering is required.
  • The candidate must have five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience, with core skills in budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management and communications.
  • A master’s degree in the same fields with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience, with core skills in budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management and communications, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in project management and technical competence in discipline field(s) and knowledge of company policies and practices.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification or obtain certification within 2 years of hire date.

Preferred Qualification

  • Knowledge of Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) best practices is desired.
  • Experience in the execution of DBIA best practices is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, project, and Outlook.
  • Knowledgeable in budget reporting and understanding programs associated with project management.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be physically capable of walking and climbing over rough terrain and working at elevated heights and confined spaces.
  • Construction sites are commonly areas of high noise levels due to construction equipment and facility test operations.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Equipment and Machines: Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.) (65%) including the following typical PC Software-Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
  • Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (35%)

$115,000.00
