Construction Project Field Engineer

Overview

Our Project Engineers are onsite at large construction projects throughout the United States. The Project Engineer supports the Site Superintendent and Project Manager in effectively coordinating job site activities in a manner that ensures successful project completion in the field through adherence to project schedules, budgets and quality objectives.

General Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains and enhances client, subcontractor and vendor relationships
  • Affirms construction schedules are maintained by trade contractors
  • Updates and reviews project and 3-week look ahead schedules, daily reports, safety checklists, and ensures onsite adherence to company policies
  • Captures the construction sequence of contractors for assigned trades
  • Maintains quality control by frequent and regular inspection of work in progress and completed projects
  • Prepares daily photos of construction progress
  • Maintains construction safety and administers company and OSHA compliance program
  • Supports and coordinates interface between design and field construction
  • Maintains updated set of site drawings
  • Prepares required field documentation and reports (monthly, weekly and daily)
  • Resolves field coordination issues among contractors

What We Are Looking For

  • 1-4 years of field experience on large projects for a General Contractor or Construction Manager
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of field construction: systems, practices, safety and procedures
  • Working knowledge of general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods, and sequencing
  • Knowledge of basic scheduling techniques (i.e., Critical Path Method)
  • Ability to interpret construction documents
  • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, initiative, and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, Procore (preferred)
  • 30 hour OSHA certification (preferred)

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $90,000 annually.
