Construction Project Estimator

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team for Street, Road, Highway, and Heavy Civil Construction. The ideal candidate will develop cost estimates for large heavy civil projects involving earthwork and underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate & reliable estimates for earthwork projects
• Provide high-level scoping of the project to create estimate summaries and outsourcing control worksheets
• Able to understand plans & specifications to determine project requirements
• Do takeoffs and project modeling to create detailed proposals
• Knowledge of construction & estimating software
• Attend 3 foreman's meetings per week to review current Schedule, RFI’s, Change Orders, and Issues (Via Zoom or in person)
• Communicate with the Foreman daily to ensure the Foreman has all the information and answers to all his questions that arise
• Manage cost codes to ensure all tracking is up-to-date and accurate (if applicable to your projects)

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Estimator or similar role for 5+ years
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment
• Familiarity with all Microsoft Office programs and bidding software
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety protocols
• Excellent leadership skills, strong communicator, and a “take ownership” attitude
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of your time
• Experience with construction management software such as PROCORE, and Bluebeam a plus

Pay

This position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year.

Schedule

Full-time position requiring in-person attendance at foreman's meetings.
