Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates based on project plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals for projects, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance with client requirements.
- Cook up and coordinate with various departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, assumptions, and justifications for estimates provided.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and job site visits as required.
- Complete take-offs for bid preparation utilizing estimating software.
Qualifications
- Must complete a mandatory field stint of up to 6 months under the supervision of the Estimating Manager to gain a comprehensive understanding of Bi-Con's methods and practices.
- A 4-year degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience required.
- 2+ years construction estimating, engineering or similar experience preferred.
- General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing required.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and interpersonal.
