About the role

Rockford is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support construction projects from start to finish. Key responsibilities include overseeing project progress, managing scopes of work, ensuring quality control, maintaining project documentation, and conducting field inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Maintain project documentation, track contract details, and manage communications
  • Visit job sites to monitor construction activities and address challenges
  • Conduct thorough inspections of in-place construction work to ensure compliance with contract documents, including plans, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Provide regular updates on project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor performance
  • Address client needs, concerns, and requests throughout the project lifecycle
  • Review engineering deliverables and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop scopes of work and compile project manuals
  • Track and distribute bulletins, ensuring pricing accuracy for Project Managers
  • Maintain and update project information in PM software
  • Document OAC/CM meetings and participate in project management discussions
  • Provide updated unit pricing for estimating department
  • Process RFI
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management
  • Experience: 1-3 years in construction, or successful completion of an internship/co-op in the industry
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
  • Competencies: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to read and interpret blueprints, passion for continuous improvement and innovation

Other Requirements

  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job site travel
