Construction Project Engineer

About the role

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Construction Project Engineer to join our dedicated team at our office located in Somerset, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, administrative, and subcontractor management support to Project Managers and Project Directors.
• Cook up and maintain execution plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Manage documentation, submittals, RFIs, and communication among project stakeholders.
• Support procurement, contract administration, and change management processes.
• Participate in safety planning and quality assurance, including shop drawing reviews and design compliance.
• Track project costs, invoice preparation, and reporting.
• Maintain project documentation systems and assist with closeout deliverables and turnover packages.
• Contribute to marketing materials, proposals, and ongoing team coordination across departments.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
• Internship experience or 1-3 years of professional experience in Construction Project Delivery, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.

Safety

• This position is a safety-sensitive position.
• The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, Process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
