Construction Project Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, including plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and closeout materials.
  • Afford assistance with project scheduling, track progress, and coordinate activities across project teams.
  • Support cost tracking, change orders, and project reporting to help keep projects on budget.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Cookordination with estimating, operations, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to support smooth project delivery.
  • Prepare project status updates and assist with ongoing project analysis and reporting.
  • Complete site walks to support project coordination, verify scope alignment, and identify field-level considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support overall team success on multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting construction projects in a project engineering or project management role.
  • Construction management experience with exposure to commercial construction environments.
  • Hands-on experience with change orders and RFIs in a construction context.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with project scheduling and use of scheduling software is a plus.
  • Experience in project coordination across estimating, operations, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Interest in long-term career growth in project management and commercial construction.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and contributing to team success.
