BluSky Restoration is looking for a construction Project Director to estimate, close sales, and manage restoration projects. This role is pivotal to our success, offering a competitive base salary and uncapped commission potential.

About the role

As a Project Director at BluSky, you will lead restoration projects for commercial, multifamily, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, and residential properties affected by disasters. You’ll act as the quarterback of each project, ensuring budgets and timelines are met while delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

Pay

Base salary range: $70,000–$100,000, depending on experience. Commission potential is uncapped, with an on-target earnings (OTE) range of $70,000–$200,000.

Responsibilities

  • Sales & Revenue
    • Meet or exceed monthly and yearly sales goals.
    • Negotiate and execute contracts for all BluSky services.
    • Convert opportunities into sales and track them in CRM systems.
    • Oversee revenue production to align with monthly goals.
    • Ensure timely deposit, progress, and final billings with the project team.
    • Review and collaborate on project schedules.
  • Profit Margins
    • Develop and own project budgets to meet target margins.
    • Modify budgets as needed during projects.
    • Improve profitability through strategic vendor, labor, and material use.
    • Monitor project costs to maintain margin integrity.
  • Accounts Receivable & Collections
    • Set AR expectations with customers at project onset.
    • Review invoicing, payment terms, and processes for specific programs.
    • Perform weekly collection calls and review A/R aging reports.
    • Maintain Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) at or below 75 days.
  • Near-Term Opportunities
    • Close leads by working directly with clients and claims teams.
    • Maintain robust communication to steer opportunities toward closing.
    • Document all communication and curate files in BluSky’s CRM.
  • Business Development
    • Attend two business development meetings weekly with clients, adjusters, or consultants.
    • Participate in marketing events (luncheons, trade shows, award dinners).
    • Entertain clients to drive business and close sales.
    • Partner with business development teams and leadership on sales pursuits.
  • Estimating
    • Accurately sketch affected areas using Matterport technology.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in Time and Material (T&M) billing and Xactimate estimating.
    • Justify Xactimate line items and estimate projects to meet target margins.
  • Customer Satisfaction
    • Maintain consistent weekly communication with all stakeholders.
    • Set clear expectations with customers upfront.
    • Hold teams accountable for updates and project progress.
    • Include all stakeholders in email communications.
  • Internal Coordination
    • Mitigation
      • Coordinate work authorizations for timely response.
      • Walk jobs with technicians to define scope.
      • Share client feedback and scope changes.
      • Review daily T&M sheets with operations teams.
      • Conduct site visits to confirm completion.
    • Reconstruction
      • Confirm scope, budget, and margin at project kickoff.
      • Maintain constant communication with Project Managers (PMs).
      • Submit timely change orders for approval.
      • Send weekly project updates.
    • Business Development
      • Communicate new opportunities to Business Development Managers (BDs) for Salesforce entry.
      • Keep BDs included in client communications.
      • Update BDs on project changes and Near-Term Opportunity (NTO) lists.
    • Project Accountants
      • Oversee completed work authorizations for Vista entry.
      • Collaborate on invoicing and change order uploads.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of recent sales, marketing, or business development experience in restoration or construction, with a proven track record of sales growth.
  • Extensive construction estimating and/or large loss/catastrophe experience.
  • Ability to attend business development networking functions 2–3 evenings per week.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with Xactimate or other estimating software preferred.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and other social media platforms preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management, financial processes, and administration.
  • Strong business ethics, integrity, and ability to work autonomously.
  • OSHA 10 or 30, CPR, and First Aid certifications preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience related to the role preferred.

Schedule

Minimal out-of-state travel is required. Some overnight travel may be expected for training, meetings, or projects.

Work Environment
