Construction Project and Energy Plant Manager

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project and Energy Plant Manager to oversee the successful execution of capital projects while ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, plant operations, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact infrastructure and energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead Projects from Concept to Completion
- Champion a strong culture of safety by maintaining and enforcing safe working practices, proactively identifying risks, and driving compliance across project sites.
- Develop, manage, and optimize project schedules, budgets, cost estimates, bill of materials, scopes of work, and vendor quotations.
- Direct all phases of project execution, ensuring deliverables are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Serve as the central point of coordination among clients, contractors, vendors, plant leadership, operations teams, procurement, and legal stakeholders.
- Drive Construction Excellence
- Oversee field personnel and contractor resources throughout construction, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
- Manage shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoicing, cost forecasting, and schedule tracking.
- Monitor project performance, identify improvement opportunities, and proactively resolve challenges to maintain project momentum.
- Build Strong Stakeholder Partnerships
- Collaborate closely with plant management, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Deliver clear project updates, technical reports, presentations, and communications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster productive relationships across multidisciplinary teams while driving accountability and results.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in Construction Project Management, Energy Plant Operations, Industrial Facilities, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
- Proven success managing contractors, subcontractors, and cross-functional project teams in industrial or energy environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction project management principles, contracts, engineering documentation, and project delivery methodologies.
- Ability to interpret and review architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and schematic drawings.
- Solid understanding of plant infrastructure systems, including boilers, chillers, gas turbines, control systems, and supporting equipment.
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, cost estimation, forecasting, value engineering, and financial performance management.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including climbing, extended site walks, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools such as Primavera, Maximo, and related scheduling/work management platforms.
- Ability to work onsite at the Pearl River facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience managing construction projects and/or energy asset operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Experience delivering multi-million-dollar capital improvement and facility enhancement projects in partnership with Operations & Maintenance teams.
- Proven experience with Design-Build project delivery models.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
- PMP Certification, or willingness to obtain certification within one year.
Pay
Pay Range: $80.00 - $84.27 per hour. Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
