Construction Project Analyst

Responsibilities

• Track, analyze, and report job costs across multiple construction projects
• Review and verify project budgets, change orders, and cost codes
• Aid in budget development and forecast projections
• Maintain oversight of actual project costs versus budget and identify discrepancies
• Collaborate with project managers to review cost data and provide actionable insights
• Monitor labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Verify and reconcile project costs against budgets and forecasts
• Generate timely and accurate job cost and variance reports
• Create monthly cost reports and support month-end closings
• Ensure proper coding and documentation of job-related transactions
• Conduct audits and assist with internal/external reviews

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in construction accounting or job cost accounting
• Thorough understanding of construction cost accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of construction contracts and billing methods (AIA)

Our team has successfully completed over 3.5 million square feet of projects and is expanding into Lee's Summit, Missouri, where we will build a 260-acre mixed-use development featuring approximately 2,900 luxury multi-family units and over 660,000 square feet of retail, office, entertainment, and hospitality space.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ANALYST POSITION: Our Construction Project Analyst manages the financial aspects of specific building projects, including overseeing budgets, tracking costs, processing invoices, and providing financial health reports to project managers. The position focuses on profitability and timely financial closeouts for each job.

PAY RANGE: $60,000 - $90,000, based on experience.
