About the role
Alexander is looking for a Construction Program Manager to develop and execute nationwide programs of new builds, retrofits, expansions, and facilities initiatives. The role involves aligning with customer leadership on program goals, roles, and expectations; performing detailed reviews of program budgets and schedules; and providing executive program reports to senior managers and Directors.
Responsibilities
- Provide alignment, standardization, and governance across multiple project managers
- Align with primary customer leadership on program goals, roles, and expectations
- Perform detailed deep dive reviews of program budgets and schedules to identify and resolve issues
- Provide executive program reports to senior managers and Directors
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to earn trust and engage as a team to deliver results
- Serve as the nationwide integrator between Design & Construction teams and other Amazon stakeholders responsible for equipping, furnishing, and operating sites within their programs
- Combine construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management
- Travel >60% nationally and be available to work from a corporate office when not traveling
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD and/or BIM, and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
- 5+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, or in a related construction discipline
- 5+ years of project management experience spanning design phase through construction completion and operational handover
- 5+ years of experience negotiating construction, procurement, and/or labor contracts
Qualifications
- Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in General Contracting, Owner's Representation, Commercial Development, Engineering & Design
- Demonstrated success communicating project requirements to diverse audiences including senior leadership, public officials, vendors, and operational teams
- Experience in facilities management, including planning, design review, implementation, and project controls
- Experience with vendor and contractor/subcontractor negotiation and management skills associated with construction and project execution
