Construction Observer
Responsibilities
- Inspects and monitors construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to verify adherence to standards, codes and specifications.
- Takes action according to findings.
- Prepares daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information.
- Aids in the preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other documents or reports required by the project.
- Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
- Covers field testing of materials associated with inspection as required.
- Performs quantity calculations for pay estimates.
- Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork, grading, profiles, and special staking procedures.
- Performs labor compliance interviews as necessary.
- Communicates verbally and in writing with Contractor, Owner and Project Stakeholders as directed.
Requirements
- Ability/certifications to perform materials sampling and testing is an added benefit.
