Construction Materials Testing Technician Level I/II
About the role
Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is seeking a Field Construction Materials Testing Technician Level I/II to join our Northern California team. Responsibilities
- Bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.).
- Operate heavy equipment as necessary (i.e., ultrasonic non-destructive testing machine, concrete cylinder press, etc.).
- Maintain safe mobility over construction obstacles by foot and ladder, traversing over rough broken ground and steep surfaces.
- Work outside in variable weather at field sites and in labs with various levels of safety protection required.
- Travel throughout Northern California as needed.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of construction materials testing experience.
- At least four field-oriented Certifications (Caltrans, ACI, NICET).
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate should have the following certifications:
- Caltrans testing certifications
- ACI
- NICET
- NACE
- NDT
Skills
While much of the work is local to the Office Area assigned, travel throughout Northern California will be required. The ideal candidate for this role of Technician II should meet all of the criteria of the Technician I plus: 1-3 years of construction materials testing experience. At least four field-oriented Certifications (Caltrans, ACI, NICET).

Pay
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Scale Disclosure Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Hourly pay is expected to be $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
