Responsibilities
- Apply standard engineering and project management techniques to provide construction materials testing and special inspection services under the supervision of experienced engineers and project managers.
- Perform field observations and inspections; communicate with and mentor engineering technicians and inspectors.
- Meet with clients and contractors; review project plans and specifications; prepare and review reports for services provided.
- Supervise and direct engineering technicians, special inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and review technical reports and letters.
- Perform field testing and inspecting of soil, foundations, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials at locations across our service area.
- Ensure project reports are completed and submitted on time.
- Ensure accuracy for all items related to billing for projects.
- Maintain excellent client relations by responding promptly and effectively.
- Provide input relative to client needs to Project Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technologies, or a related field.
- Typically 0-4 years of experience.
- May have E.I.T.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent people and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and performance-driven individual.
- Highly organized individual.
- Willingness to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening, including a background investigation, drug screening, and driving record.
- Ability to frequently drive to and from work sites, must have a valid driver’s license with a good-standing driving record.
- May travel overnight.
