Construction Materials Testing Lab/Field Lead Technician

About the role

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, seeks a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Red River CoMET team in Houston, Texas. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients.

Responsibilities

• Performing testing on concrete, soil, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standard test methods
• Reporting verification of conformance to approved plans and specifications
• Communicating effectively with clients, supervisors, technicians, and other design professionals
• Maintaining Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations
• Performing field observations and testing on materials testing projects to verify conformance to the construction plans and specifications
• Submitting daily field reports and data reports summarizing daily activities

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 + years of laboratory experience in CoMET or equivalent ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Bend and lift up-to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.)

Preferred Certifications

• Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT)
• National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent with some college preferred
