Construction Materials Technician (CMT)

Responsibilities

• Perform field density tests of soils
• Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and strength
• Prepare daily reports
• Perform field masonry testing
• Perform field excavation observations
• Work with project managers and senior technicians or staff
• Perform routine samples and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt
• Assist with more complex tasks

Qualifications

• A strong safety focus and attention to detail
• Demonstrate ability to learn and apply technical concepts
• Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Related work experience in materials testing or construction (preferred)
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I Certification (preferred)
• International Code Council (ICC) certification(s) in concrete, soils, and masonry (preferred)

Requirements

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

You must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years.

Pay

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $17.00 per hour to $30 per hour.
