Construction Materials Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials used conform to approved drawings and specifications.
• Perform standard testing of materials.
• Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
• Examine workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.
• Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and complete clear, accurate reports daily.
• Prepare sketches of construction installations that correlate with testing and inspection sites.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• An AS Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or similar, OR completed coursework toward a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or similar; Experience with construction materials testing and/or construction industry preferred (will be trained).
• A strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocols.
• A detailed orientation and ability to work independently.
• The ability to travel and perform site visits.
• A valid, clean driver’s license.
• May be required to obtain any security clearances and background confirmation for sensitive projects and locations.
