Construction Manager- Perdiem

About the role
This position manages day-to-day onsite operations for individual construction projects from Pre-Construction through the Close-Out Phase. Responsibilities include procuring, scheduling, and directing work crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials while ensuring projects are constructed according to designs, plans, and specifications, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand proposals, estimates, plans, drawings, specifications, and related documents; analyze labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.
- Maintain full accountability for onsite operations from Pre-Construction through Project Close-Out.
- Communicate continually with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Manage multiple subcontractors and their schedules.
- Collaborate with engineers, environmental teams, owners, vendors, and suppliers.
- Enforce all applicable safety precautions, programs, and Charah Solutions Standard Operating Procedures.
- Understand OSHA construction industry requirements and customer safety expectations.
- Demonstrate professionalism when working with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and coworkers.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain initiative to meet or exceed project construction schedules.
- Work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Complete projects and reports accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a construction environment.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of construction management or supervision experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
- OSHA 30 Certification or ability to acquire it.
- Experience in site grading, heavy construction (mass excavations, embankments, hauling, utility construction).
- Landfill construction or operation experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read engineered drawings, blueprints, grade stakes, and use a level.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL and heavy equipment operation experience a plus.
