About the Role

This construction management position reports to a lead construction manager and has responsibility for oversight of multiple small to medium size projects or one or two large projects. It involves supervision of field inspection staff and RPRs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Construction Inspection duties on projects assigned
  • Lead project inspection on multiple projects
  • Direct inspectors and field staff
  • Work with Engineers on projects during construction
  • Communicate with Clients, Contractors, and Engineers
  • Complete Daily Construction Reports and other documentation as assigned by Construction Manager
  • Assist Construction Manager V and above as assigned
  • Understand budgets and cost assignments
  • Perform all duties of Construction Manager 3

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of field experience in construction or construction management
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Able to read plans and specifications
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, schedule software, project management software, and others as assigned
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Able to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must pass OSHA safety course as part of training for jobsite visits

Qualifications

  • Construction Manager Certification from CMAA is encouraged and preferred; or ability to obtain it within 1 year
  • Professional Engineer License preferred
  • Willing to attend outside training – OSHA, CMAA, WCDA, AMPP, ACI, etc.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, employee may have to work in outside weather conditions. Employees occasionally work near moving parts and are exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand up to 8 hours or more at one time, walk in rugged conditions, and work in adverse weather conditions. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 125 pounds.
