Construction Manager II - Temporary Position 3 to 6 months

This is a temporary position lasting up to 6 months with heavy travel required across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Lead and supervise construction workers and subcontractors on site, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular site inspections, and address safety concerns.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and construction crew.
- Prepare and maintain project documents including reports, change orders, permits, and invoices.
- Act as liaison between Company, Field Personnel, and Customers.
- Troubleshoot and solve issues, coordinate with other trades/clients with minimal supervision.
- Maintain job records for managing or controlling projects.
- Comply with carrier specifications on all site construction through detailed coordination, review, and approval of documentation including construction reports, grounding reports, and as-builts.
- Ensure permitting, inspections, and code compliance are completed as needed for each assigned project.
- Review and compile reports such as inspection reports, tool, equipment, and supply usage, and safety reports.
- Attend daily and/or weekly meetings and manage project schedules.
- Schedule crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project completion.
- Perform quality control duties regarding the work being performed.
- Ensure the subcontractor is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work.
- Ensure crew members are in compliance with company and customer safety requirements.
- Inspect all tools and rigging gear to ensure they are safe to use.
- Report any workers’ comp injuries or other incidents.
- Maintain and report daily activities to the construction manager and project manager.
- Identify conflicts in the construction progress and communicate them to the project team for resolution.
- Investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality.
- Ensure crews and subcontractors have corrected all deficiencies identified.
- Keep the job site in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
- Perform job and progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
- Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, including scheduling delays or quality concerns.
- Manage the delivery and coordination of materials and equipment to the job site.
- Provide status reports as requested to management.
- Perform physical tasks such as timesheet and other recordkeeping, completing Job Safety Analysis, adjusting equipment and tools, compiling data to create documents or reports and presentations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Business Administration is preferred.
- Minimum 5 plus years of related experience.
- Experience in wireless/telecom services is a significant plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) programs.
- Good communication, reading, and writing skills (English).
- Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be able to accommodate out-of-town travel, if required.
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
- ComTrain, OSHA30, RF Awareness Training, First AID/CPR trained.
- Experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew, PPC, tower mapping, and antenna equipment.
- Experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes.
- RF Awareness, replacement, and maintenance (e.g., coax, jumpers, TMA’s, connectors, and weatherproofing).
- Highly organized with the ability to effectively report verbally and in written form to the Tower Construction Manager.
- Experience in managing employees – hiring, terminating, completing performance reviews, allocating work, setting schedules, training, etc.
Skills
- Knowledge of construction milestones.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), especially MS Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands
- Regularly work at a desktop or laptop computer; typing and vision will be used constantly.
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Required to walk much of the time.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- May occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to travel as needed.
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
