Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a mission-critical and high-visibility data center construction portfolio in Montgomery, Alabama . This role is responsible for managing onsite construction activities, commissioning efforts, and project turnover for both new data center buildouts and retrofit projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work history in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, construction management, and project execution within mission-critical or data center environments. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong leadership, relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met. Key Responsibilities Manage onsite construction activities, commissioning, and project turnover for data center projects.Support the Lead Construction Manager in contractor, consultant, vendor, and stakeholder management.Oversee construction scopes for both retrofit projects in existing data halls and new space buildouts within the leased data center portfolio.Coordinate project execution between contractors, consultants, design teams, and cross-functional partners.Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and consultants.Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through innovation, process improvements, accountability, and collaboration.Partner with internal teams to develop project scopes, sequencing strategies, and execution plans.Support the development and maintenance of project schedules in collaboration with Project Controls and Scheduling teams.Manage project budgets, cost changes, and pricing negotiations while maintaining alignment with schedule and financial objectives.Track project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure predictable delivery timelines.Conduct regular site walks and monthly Work-In-Place (WIP) reviews to validate construction progress and support invoicing processes.Monitor quality, safety, schedule, and financial performance through project reporting and analysis.Assist in developing capital project budgets and preparing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) construction cost estimates.Manage monthly CapEx forecasting and project financial reporting.Review and manage Method of Procedures (MOPs) for retrofit work within live data center environments.Coordinate with contractors, designers, QA/QC teams, and commissioning partners to ensure successful project delivery.Lead project closeout activities and ensure all turnover requirements are completed.Escalate critical project issues, risks, and concerns to leadership in a timely manner.Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, accountability, and safety. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.7–10 years of experience in construction, operations, maintenance, project planning, or related fields.7–10 years of experience supporting the design or construction of data centers, critical infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities.Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in various phases of execution.Understanding of construction schedules, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management practices.Experience working directly with contractors, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.Ability to effectively solve complex construction and technical issues in the field. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing mission-critical, infrastructure, or data center construction projects.Experience commissioning new construction and retrofit data center projects.Familiarity with CPM scheduling methodologies and Primavera P6 software.Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and telecommunications/connectivity systems.Experience developing and managing project budgets and financial forecasts.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
